This presentation will focus on the role of regulations in Malaysia in ensuring the success of takaful.

Aiza Yasmin Benyamin is a Partner Actuary at Actuarial Partners Consulting, Malaysia. She qualified as a Fellow of the UK Institute of Actuaries in 2002. In the following 18+ years post qualification, she heads a team of actuarial associates within the KL office and is involved in consulting projects to life insurers and takaful operators including traditional roles such as in valuation, pricing, M&A due diligence, capital adequacy assessment (ICAAP), model review to market feasibility studies. Other roles include consulting work on ALM and operational risk audits for wealth funds. This is complemented by work in projects on Social Security and Micro Insurance. She looks forward to embracing the challenges & opportunities that IFRS 17 is set to bring to the industry.

Aiza is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK and has a Masters in Actuarial Science from City University, London.
